Upper Blepharoplasty - Before and after

A middle-aged patient has been coming to me for years. An injectable here and there has kept her face looking refreshed and younger. Then one day she told me she felt she looked tired and old. Her lower lids were tight and she didn’t have any “bags” below her eyes. We discussed her options, and she decided it was time for an Upper Blepharoplasty.

Upper Blepharoplasty procedure

In her case, I just did a fairly simple upper blepharoplasty. Through a very small incision, I removed the excess skin and fat to give her a refreshed appearance. Since I strategically placed the incision, it’s practically undetectable now that her eyelids have healed. Although it is common to combine this procedure with others such as a brow lift of lower blepharoplasty, she didn’t need these, so recovery was quick and easy for her.

Healing time

In her own words:

“I had no discomfort, virtually no pain, and my only problem was that I couldn’t wear my contact lenses for the week following surgery until the sutures were removed. I had very little bruising—just a bit in the outer corners, which I easily covered with makeup. No one knew I had any cosmetic surgery. Dr. Iteld was fantastic and I love the results!”

The best was yet to come. One evening, she was out and ran into an old friend she hadn’t seen in a long time. The friend kept raving about how fabulous she looked. Her friend had no idea what the change was, just that she looked amazing.

And, that’s the goal: I want to restore my patient’s youthful volume and smooth contours that are essential to producing the most natural-looking results.
