Although skin is generally elastic, your skin’s natural elasticity decreases with age. As a result, taking “skinny shots,” such as Ozempic to lose weight, your stretched out skin may have a hard time returning to a normal state and you will likely see sagging.
The likelihood of saggy skin is dependent on several factors, including your age and how much weight you lost. Areas most prone to this effect include your face – especially your cheeks — abdomen, butt, thighs, and arms.
Ways to treat sagging skin after massive weight loss
Side effects of massive weight loss include a saggy appearance to the face (“Ozempic Face”), increased droopy breasts and body (“Ozempic Body”), and deflated butt (“Ozempic Butt”). No matter how you lose the weight, if you have excess, sagging skin afterwards, we have various ways to help you.
Ozempic Face
People taking drugs like Ozempic to lose weight may see increased signs of aging to their face — middle-aged people report they look 10 – 15 years older — such as more lines and wrinkles. The loss of fat can lead to the skin on your face becoming loose and sag. And patients often have a hollowed-out appearance. We can improve “Ozempic face” with nonsurgical, minimally invasive, and surgical treatments.
Nonsurgical options
- Morpheus8 Combines microneedling with radiofrequency to tighten your skin and improve its laxity.
- Injectables are great to fill in hollow spaces and stimulate collagen production.
Minimally invasive treatments
- FaceTite uses radiofrequency assisted lipolysis (RFAL) to help suction out small amounts of fatty tissues while stimulating collagen production. It targets sagging skin and wrinkles, primarily on the lower half of your face.
- Silhouette InstaLift®, a type of thread lift, provides an effective option to restore a youthful appearance without having a surgical facelift.
Surgical solution
Need more?
- Facelift with or without a neck lift is a surgical procedure that creates a more youthful appearance by elevating and tightening sagging tissues around your face and/or neck.
- Fat Transfer restores volume and fills in facial hollow areas, including cheeks, under eyes, and around your mouth and nose.
Ozempic Body
Your face is not the only area affected by massive weigh loss. A positive effect of rapid weight loss is the reduction of visceral fat, the fat surrounding your organs, which cannot be removed using liposuction. But with the decrease in visceral fat, loose skin is left behind.
Pounds of excess flesh can literally sag from your abdomen, arms, legs, and butts. And breasts can sag and look deflated. We can address Ozempic Body concerns with various surgical procedures.
Abdomen
Massive weight loss often leaves excess skin and tissue around your abdomen. Abdominoplasty (commonly called a tummy tuck) can help remove excess skin and tissue, tighten the abdominal muscles, and create a smoother, more toned appearance. The surgical goal is for you to have a flatter, more toned abdomen.
Arms and Legs
Bat wings? Saggy thighs? Hip Dip? These are common following weight loss. Brachioplasty (arm lift) and Thighplasty (thigh lift) remove unwanted, extra skin and tissue to achieve a body shape that is sleeker and slimmer.
Butt
Rapid, extreme weight loss contribute to looser skin, particularly in your curvier body areas. The upshot is Ozempic Butt, making your buttocks look looser and deflated. A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), performed with fat transfer, fixes this by creating a bigger, rounder, and firmer rear.
Breasts
Have you noticed your breasts have lost significant volume, appear to have loose skin, and a deflated and more saggy appearance? That is common following massive weight loss. Fortunately, we can restore breast volume with either breast implants or fat transfer. You may also benefit from a breast lift.
Fat transfer revision
If you previously had fat transferred to reshape your breasts or butt before your rapid weight loss, you may now find you need to revise these procedures.
