There’s more than one way to solve a problem, right? Let’s use basic arithmetic as an example. Let’s say you were asked to come up with the number 5. Yes, 2+3 = 5, but so does 1+4. And we can subtract 6-1 or 7-2; we can divide 10 by 2 or 25 by 5; or even multiply 2 x 2.5, The combinations and options may be infinite. In other words, we can use any number of ways (pardon the pun here!) to solve even the simplest math question. The same principle applies to what I do as well. There is more than one way to solve lots of issues patients have.
Patients come to me because they are unhappy with something about how they look or feel about how they look. Some issues have a simple solution; others require complex, multi-stage approaches. So, as an example, let’s look at a common complaint — fat reduction!
Many of us have put on a few extra pounds through the pandemic lockdowns. Or, for other patients, you’ve been carrying extra weight for a while and now is the time to shed it for good. When diet and exercise don’t seem to be enough to get rid of those unwanted flabby pockets, the good news is that options abound.
Nonsurgical Fat Reduction
Nonsurgical approach to fat reduction includes CoolSculpting — the popular fat freezing technique. With CoolSculpting, you can sit back and freeze away up to 25% of the fat in the treated area. Patients typically need several treatment cycles for this no surgery approach. Keep in mind that there are no needles and no downtime!
Need a bit more? BodyTite uses radiofrequency energy to simultaneously “melt” fat and tighten the moderately lax overlying skin. It’s ideal on areas such as the abdomen, back, upper arms, thighs, love handles, and knees.
You’ve probably heard about Kybella for reducing double chins, but did you know we also use it for other areas? This includes smoothing out breast creases due to stubborn fat, as well as touching up other areas of the body where fat has unfortunately settled.
Surgical Fat Reduction
Want a one-and-done surgical approach? Think Liposuction! It’s a surgical way to remove unwanted excess fat, thereby improving smoothing irregular body shapes and enhancing patients’ body contours.
You may not think about it this way, but some patients have overly large breasts that just have too much fat. For both men and women, removing some of that excess fat is often a viable surgical solution for them to reduce and/or improve their contours.
