Liposuction: It’s not just for women

ALiposuction for menccording to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) Liposuction is the top cosmetic procedure for men! Yes, men. Not only has this been true in the past several years, but we continue to see an increasing demand from men wanting liposuction.

Why men want liposuction

As they age, some men experience a buildup of stubborn fat around the abdomen (“spare tire”), hips, chest, and below the chin. Does this sound familiar? No matter how much time you work out, these fatty deposits won’t go away even if other areas respond well to diet and exercise. That’s where liposuction comes in. It helps men achieve a slimmer, more toned look.

What liposuction is and is not

Liposuction has a successful track record of providing long lasting and effective body contouring. This procedure provides a great way to remove excess fat and contour problem areas, giving you a more sculpted look.

It is not a weight loss surgery! Ideally, for the procedure to be most effective, male liposuction patients should be within 15 pounds of their goal weight prior to surgery.

If your issues involve excess skin, we should talk about a body lift and/or tummy tuck.

Keeping your shape

For lasting results, it is important for patients having undergone the procedure to maintain a healthy diet and active lifestyle.
